The Opportunity

As Commercial Director, you'll take ownership of the entire commercial function, providing strategic leadership across multiple live projects while working closely with the Board to drive performance, profitability and sustainable growth.

This is a highly visible leadership position where you'll influence decisions at the very highest level of the business.

You'll oversee a substantial commercial team, providing direction, mentoring and support to Managing Surveyors, Senior Quantity Surveyors, Quantity Surveyors and Assistant Surveyors, while ensuring consistent commercial excellence across every project.

Beyond project delivery, you'll play a key role in developing the next generation of commercial talent, strengthening recruitment, succession planning and the overall capability of the business.

About You

You're an established commercial leader with a proven track record delivering major construction projects for a recognised main contractor.

Whether you're already operating as a Commercial Director or you're an experienced Commercial Manager looking for the opportunity to step into a board-level leadership role, you'll possess the credibility, commercial acumen and leadership skills to influence at every level.

You'll naturally build high-performing teams, challenge the status quo and create an environment where people can thrive.

You'll also bring:

• Extensive leadership experience within a main contractor environment
• Strong commercial and contractual expertise across major construction projects
• Experience leading and developing large commercial teams
• A strategic approach to risk, procurement, forecasting and profitability
• Excellent client-facing and stakeholder management skills
• A passion for mentoring, succession planning and building high-performing teams
• The ability to contribute to wider business strategy beyond the commercial function
